Sometimes, we realized that we are fat. But actually, we don’t really realize how fat we are. Actually, we really need to know about that in order to see how much fat that we got in our body. Well, there is a simple method for us to measure our body’s fat quickly and conveniently. The measuring body fat device called as body fat scales.

It claimed as the easiest and the quickest methods to measure the body fat. The scale works by using the Bioelectrical Impedance method to measure your body fat percentage. You’ll be passed by a low level electrical and the impedance is measured.

The result would be us in the conjunction with your weight and other factors to determine your body fat percentage. But unfortunately the result couldn’t be considered as accurate considering that there are so many factors impact the impedance.

To get the accurate measurement, if we use the method above we cannot eat or drink at least 4 hours before the measurement. We also cannot do any exercise for the last 12 hours before the test. Well, is measuring body fat always being that complicated?

There are other method of measuring body fat. The methods are using the Skinfold Calipers and the Hydrostatic Weighing method. The Skinfold Calipers method claimed as the most effective way to determine the fat levels. But actually, the most accurate measuring body fat method is the Hydrostatic Weighing.

There are some percentages that show us the normal level or fat percentage in man and women such as, the acceptable fat percentage of woman is 25 to 31 percent, and the acceptable fat percentage of man is around 18 to 25 percent.

The question is why is it so important for us to measure our body fat? Measuring body fat is so important for us because that would be the best indicator for us to the weight controlling. Body fat requires fewer calories than muscle. Measuring body fat percentage could make us have some numbers to make our health calculation based on the fat percentage number.

The higher percentage of fat (above the average level) would be mean the higher your health risk of weight related illness such as heart diseases, high blood pressure, gallstones, type 2 diabetes, and many ore. So, that is why we need to measure our body fat. We need to know that in order to keep on control of our health.
